File License

1. Definitions
"File" means any digital asset downloaded from the ScaleCad platform, including but not limited to Autodesk Fusion 360 design files (.f3d), Python scripts (.py), templates, and related materials.
"Licensee" (you) means the individual or entity that has downloaded the File.
"Licensor" means ScaleCad or the third-party creator who has made the File available through this platform.
"Output" means any physical or digital end product produced using the File as a resource or reference, such as a 3D-printed part or machined component.
2. Licence Grant
All Files on this Platform — whether free or paid — are distributed under a single Personal & Commercial Use licence. This platform exists to give independent builders, makers, and small manufacturers access to professional design tools so they can build great products.
You may:
- ✓ Use the File for personal, hobby, educational, or commercial projects
- ✓ Modify the File for your own use
- ✓ Manufacture physical Output (3D-printed parts, machined components, assembled products) from the design
- ✓ Sell physical Output to customers, including at scale
- ✓ Use scripts and automation files to run commercial production workflows
- ✓ Use the File as a base template in client work or in products sold to third parties
You may not:
- ✕ Redistribute or resell the digital File itself
- ✕ Sell or give away the File, even in modified digital form
- ✕ Claim authorship or copyright over the original design
Specific files may carry additional terms listed on their individual product pages. In the event of a conflict, the product-page terms take precedence.
3. Restrictions Applying to All Licences
Regardless of the licence tier, the following restrictions always apply:
- ✕No redistribution of the File. You must not upload, share, publish, email, or otherwise distribute the File to any third party, whether for payment or free of charge.
- ✕No sublicensing. You may not grant others any rights to use the File.
- ✕No reverse engineering for redistribution. While modification for personal use is permitted, you may not extract core design elements for the purpose of recreating and distributing a similar product.
- ✕One user per download. A downloaded File is licensed to the individual purchaser only. Team or site licences are not currently available.
4. Attribution
Attribution to ScaleCad is not required but is always appreciated. If you share a manufactured Output publicly (e.g. on social media or in a portfolio), a credit such as "Design from ScaleCad" helps the community grow and supports future file creation.
5. No Warranty
Files are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The Licensor does not warrant that the File is suitable for any particular purpose, is free from defects, or will produce specific manufacturing results. Use of the File is entirely at your own risk.
6. Termination
This licence is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically, without notice, if you breach any of its terms. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of the File and delete all copies in your possession. Sections 3 and 5 survive termination.
